Chocolate Carmel Brownies

Ingredients:
1 box German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 1/2 cubes of melted butter
1 can evaporated milk
40 Caramels (I like Werther's but any will work)
1 package of chocolate chips (I prefer milk chocolate)

Melt the caramels with 1/2 cup of the evaporated milk in the microwave. Make sure to stir part way through so they don't burn.

Mix cake mix with the butter and 1/2 cup of the evaporated milk. It will be thicker than typical brownie batter. Put half in a 9 x 13 pan. Cook at 350 for 6 min. Remove from the oven and pour the chocolate chips evenly. Pour the caramel mixture over the top. Try to stay about 1/2 in. from the edge. Put the rest of the cake mixture on top. I usually put small bits at a time around the edges first then put it over the rest trying to cover as much as possible. There may be caramel showing a little. That is ok.

Bake for 18 min. These need to cool completely. They will be extremely messy otherwise. Making them the day before always works perfectly!
